The Fifth International Junior Scholars' Conference on Sinology
Performing arts and Fine arts of Sinology Studies
Fu Jen Catholic University, Hsinchuang, Taipei, Taiwan
November 18-20, 2006
The Organizing Committee of the 5th International Junior Scholars Conference on Sinology (IJSCS) invites papers for presentation at the Conference. The theme of the conference will be focusing on Performing arts and Fine arts of Sinology studies. Papers and proposals are encouraged from the fields of fine art, architecture, interior design, drama, music, dance, cinema, TV and any other issues that can be related to the conference theme.
The Conference will held at Fu Jen Catholic University, Hsinchuang, Taipei,
Taiwan, starting November 18th and finishing November 20th, 2006. The conference
is coordinated by the Department of East Asian Languages and Civilizations,
Harvard University.
Younger scholars who have recently been awarded their PhD and those currently
writing their theses are encouraged to submit abstracts of their work.
Abstracts must be typed in Chinese, and papers
must be typed in Chinese or English. The language of the conference will
be Chinese.
Methods of Submission:
proposals to be submitted as attachments to e-mails addressed to :- conference
assistant (Mei-Juan, Huang) land0007@mails.fju.edu.tw. The format of the proposals
is to be either MSWord .doc or Adobe .pdf or HTML.
Proposals must include the following information: 1) tentative paper title,
2) presenter's name, 3) affiliation, specialization, mailing and email addresses,
4) 500 words' paper abstract in Chinese,
5) one recommendation letter.
The proposal submission deadline is May 4, 2006.
•The IJSCS Organizing Committee will send out notification of acceptance on
May 20, 2006.
•$800 will be provided for foreign presenters and 2800 NT dollars for domestic
presenters to assist them with travel to Taiwan. The conference organizers will
arrange and cover the fee of accommodation for people elected to present papers.
In addition to accommodation being provided for those presenting papers all
meals will also be provided for the duration of the conference; there will also
be an opportunity to visit a resort.
•For Conference attendees not presenting papers, the Secretariat will be happy
to arrange hotel accommodation for them covering the conference period, but
at their own cost.
• The full paper (approximately 8000 to 12000 words in Chinese or no more than
12000 words in English) should be with the Conference Organizers by
30 September 2006, preferably in electronic form (using MSWord
or any other compatible MSWindows format).
